Handing Out The Hardware

As the NBA season draws to a close, it is time for the first annual Thomas Ikehara Awards for Excellence in the NBA. unfortunately, I did not make a preview for this season so I have nothing to look back on, but, as most of my readers know, I had the Blazers around 40 wins. So, without further to do, here are the TIAENBAs:

MVP: Chris Paul G New Orleans Hornets.

21.1 Points, 11.6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2.7 steals,

runners up: LeBron James (CLE)

Defensive: Bruce Bowen F San Antoinio Spurs.

runner up: Kevin Garnett (BOS)

Coach: Nate McMillian Portland Trailblazers.

Led 3rd youngest team in NBA history to an 9 game improvement despite loosing the top scorer are rebounder and the number one pick

runner up: Rick Adelman (HOU)

6th Man: Leandro Barbosa G Phoenix Suns.

I'd put Manu here, but I don't consider him a 6th man. Manu is not the 6th man on that team, he is their leading scorer!!

runner up: Travis Outlaw (POR)

MIP: LaMarcus Aldridge F Portland Trailblazers.

Went from 9 points and 5 boards to 17.9 points and 7.6 boards

runner up: Hedo Turkoglu (ORL)

Rookie: Kevin Durant F Seattle SuperSonics

Compare his stats with LeBron's rookie year and find that they are eerily similar. Not saying he will be as good as the King but he is having a good year.

runner up: Al Horford (ATL)

Congratulations Chris, Bruce, Nate, Leandro, Kevin, and LaMarcus for winning the first annual TIAENBAs.

And now for the other ones, the fist annual Thomas Ikehara Awards for Atrociousness in the NBA. Without further to do, the TIAANBAs

LVP: Zack Randolph F New York Knicks.

runner ups: Darius Miles, Stephan Marbury, Raef Lafrenz,

I know there is only one, but in the future, there will be more.
